ソニー・インタラクティブエンタテインメントは本日（2022年4月5日），San Diego Studioによる野球ゲーム「MLB The Show 22」の英語版をPS5とPS4向けにリリースし，パッケージを飾る大谷翔平選手が出演する最新トレイラーを公開した。また，MLBAMから，本作のNintendo Switch版がリリースされている。
MLB The Show 22は，MLB（メジャーリーグベースボール）の公式ライセンスを取得した野球ゲームシリーズの最新作だ。自分の分身となる選手を育成してスーパースターを育成したり，歴代の有名選手でドリームチームを編成したりと，多彩な遊び方でMLBの世界を体験できる。

ソニー・インタラクティブエンタテインメントは、“PlayStation 5”（PS5）/“PlayStation 4”（PS4）用ソフトウェア『MLB The Show 22』（英語版）を日本国内に向けて本日2022年4月5日（火）に発売いたしました。
『MLB The Show 22』（英語版）は、誰でもメジャーリーガー体験ができる「The Show」シリーズの最新作。現役選手やレジェンド選手でドリームチームを編成してライバルと競い合ったり、自分の分身となる新人選手を作ってスーパースターに育て上げたりと、様々な遊び方でMLBの世界を遊び尽くすことができます。
『MLB The Show 22』（英語版）では、各ゲームモードはさらにリアルに進化し、さらに自由度を増し、そして初心者からベテランプレイヤーまで楽しめるよう新たに2つの難易度が追加されております。シリーズお馴染みのオンライン対戦も進化を遂げ、これまでの1対1でのオンライン対戦に加え、本作ではオンラインのフレンドとチームを組み、他プレイヤーたちのチームと対戦できるようになりました。遠く離れた場所に住む見知らぬライバルたちのチームと2対2や3対3で対戦に挑めます。
本作は、“PS5”と“PS4”に加え、Xbox One、Xbox Series X|S、Nintendo Switchでも同時発売となります。プラットフォームをまたいだオンラインマルチプレイが可能で世界中のあらゆるプレイヤーと競い合うことができ、さらに他プラットフォーム版とのクロスセーブやゲーム進捗の同期も可能です。
